Shuar Culture

Shuar culture known for its famous reductions heads, was a culture that was among the jungle of Peru and Ecuador. It was a wild and strong culture. Neither the Inca culture, nor the Spanish were able to conquer the Shuar territory. In 1490 rejected the Incas and in 1549 became the first Spanish incursions fail so that the Spanish named them jibaros as a synonym of feral wild. When culture Shuar tribes fought over territory, the chiefs were fighting between themselves and the winner coming out reducing your opponent's head to see his victory.
 
The reduction of heads was a major ceremonial tradition in the Shuar culture. It consisted of a series of procedures and took the place after a successful victory against an opponent. The hair-bearing skin was boiled (for the skin to shrink and will not take off the hair). After a while the hair-bearing skin was removed from the water and extracted the remains of meat to avoid bad smell. Smeared with oil carapa when it was dry. Holes were sewn on the face (eyes, mouth) and finally introduced a stone the size of a hand and head completely closed thus being reduced. The hanging on their belts as trophies of war. They were true warriors, great fighters.

PARACAS Culture

Paracas culture mainly characterized by its famous funerary bundles, their textiles, and the deformation of skulls, was one of the cultures originated on the southern coast of Peru. The famous funerary bundles are cemeteries where the dead were buried with extremely luxurious robes decorated with ceremonial and symbolic objects. They contain some very advanced variety of textiles to be one of the oldest cultures. One of the reasons that led to the Paracas culture popular in the world were their textiles. The mantles contained images depicting characters in costumes rituals. The beauty of textiles was of very high value that some were taken illegally by looters, who led Peru's illegal to enter foreign collections. For gold Paracas culture was not a material treasured as it was in Europe and Asia. To the Andean world gold had an important place because it served a ritual. In this sense, meant the most valuable textiles and representing a great investment and a long work process. The deformation of skulls. So today is a mystery why the cranial deformation in the Paracas culture. Perhaps it was a magic-religious ritual but the meaning is so uncertain. After hundreds of years of experimentation, the men of the Paracas culture came to change the axis of the brain deformation achieved almost erect. Finding the lost golden city (Through the Inca trail)

Inca Trail is the name given to the extensive trail system built during the Inca Empire by the servants of the Inca. Converge in the city of Cusco. It was used by the Spanish conquerors to go to Bolivia, Chile and the Argentine pampas mountain range.
